In 2016, a study was conducted for the development of the hiking network on Poros island, with the aim of highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of the island. The implementation of the Poros Trails network was completed in 2023, offering visitors a unique hiking experience that highlights the special natural beauty and rich history of Poros.
The network consists of 6 signposted hiking trails that cover every corner of the island. Through these routes, hikers have the opportunity to explore the picturesque chapels, monasteries and forests of Poros, as well as cross areas with rich biodiversity, connecting the coastal zone with the hinterland, offering a comprehensive picture of the natural beauty and authentic life of the island.
In 2024, the network was expanded with the addition of 6 cycling routes, providing new opportunities for cycling enthusiasts.
Paths of Greece designed and implemented the Poros Trails project in collaboration with the Municipality of Poros, promoting sustainability and the development of soft tourism. This network offers hikers the opportunity to discover the hidden corners of Poros and create memories that will accompany them forever.
Part of the project’s promotion was the map-brochure shown above, as well as the Poros Trails website.
